Fall: The Season of Transition and Preparation

As much as I enjoy the sun and beach weather, drinking margaritas with friends and a slower pace of life that often accompanies summer time schedules, the months of September and October always seem to remind me of the change ahead.

Indeed the days begin to get shorter, the weather cooler, and because I primarily live in the northeastern U.S., the trees’ leaves begin to change color.  Mother Nature ushers in this transition that suggests coolness of temperature does not mean dormancy of spirit and activity.  A lot still happens under the surface and behind the scenes.

Along this same vein, I enjoy the shift—the metaphysical and environmental—the fall season offers.  I think about the transition of my schedule as I reflect on my scholarship, consultant work, creative activities and teaching for the school year ahead, set intentions as it relates to my goals and objectives, and prepare the groundwork necessary to achieve them—often in time for Spring!

For many of you who follow and support my recent book and digitial media project, Journeys of Belonging to Blackness (JourneysB2B), know of the work I have completed to date and can anticipate seeing the fruits of my labor shortly—with the publishing of JourneysB2B’s first episodes later this year (November-December 2019) on YouTube. Very exciting!

In addition, there are other creative activities on the horizons for the book and digital media project, which I will be using this website and particularly this blog to share with you in the coming weeks.

As you can tell, there’s a lot of activity happening so let’s “fall” back in together!
