JourneysB2B: Book & Digital Project

About the project

Journeys of Belonging 2 Blackness (JourneysB2B) is an ethnographically grounded and historically informed book and digital media project on the intersections of Black racial identity and biogeographic ancestry.

JourneysB2B is conceptualized as a three-pronged integrated project intended for public audiences to gain insight and understanding of the thinking, philosophy, and practices of belonging as articulated and performed by African descendants.

a book: [Anticipated 2026!];

a web-based YouTube Channel: Journeys of Belonging 2 Blackness (JourneysB2B); and,

a digital audio podcast series: Talking Journeys of Belonging 2 Blackness (IG:@JourneysB2B_Podcast)

It utilizes ethnography, storytelling and archival research to examine the processes and behaviors African descendants (ages 18-70 currently living in the Americas) engage in after they receive their mt.DNA results.

These videos highlight the field research process, clips of interviews and “teasers” of major research findings included in the forthcoming book.
