‘Tis the season to reflect on the year gone and be filled with hope for the beauty and possibilities the new year may bring.
For the podcast Belonging to Blackness, 2024 represented a year of significant growth and expansion. We started the year with a sponsorship and collaborative relationship with Give Black Alliance, which led to the expansion of the podcast team and other collaborations with leaders at top-podcast networks.
In the first and second quarters, successful efforts were made to formalize the business aspect of operating a podcast and its rebranding. By the third quarter, the Belonging to Blackness podcast brand launched its online swag shop, www.ShopBelongingToBlackness.com and received 35 unique sales in its first 7 days alone! And in this fourth quarter, we kicked off Season 6—with a star-studded line-up of guest features, a rebroadcast of the podcast’s first live show on Martha’s Vineyard, and a podcast win from Signal Awards for the “Curators that Shape Culture” category.
Achievements in 2024 also include features from Afros & Audio for Black History Month and support from Podcasting Seriously, Funding. Other notable areas of growth and expansion include:
